I viewed the video where Linus demonstrated installation steps. He mentioned an ISO code, which made me uncertain about which Windows version to purchase. Before ordering for the system builder, I need to find out which Windows 8 model supports that key and works with multiple motherboards.

It seems you're seeking a Windows retail key, not an OEM one. This kind can be legally installed across various motherboards. According to what I know, it typically costs around $130.

You don't have to purchase the retail edition. Just get the Windows 8/8.1 ISO from any source (search online). Use a tool like this one (http://wudt.codeplex.com/) to create a USB drive. Install it there. Make sure you use your OEM key—buy it legally, otherwise it won't work. If the activation says Windows isn't activated, activate it via the phone method. This has helped me twice.

Are you asking about system installations? It seems unnecessary to set up multiple machines for this purpose. For Windows 8, including the system builder, you should find the ISO key or equivalent on the official website so you can use a USB drive for installation.

Everything seems okay. The link provided points to the Windows 8 System Builder. Whether you can install Windows 8 from a flash drive depends on your setup and the version of the system builder you're using.

When buying windows you receive a key either physical on the disc case or digital. The "iso" key mentioned isn't clear; there are three main steps for installation as explained by @H4X3R. You can choose between retail and personal versions. With the personal version, you can use it on multiple machines but only one MMO should be linked at a time. First, get windows either digitally or on a physical disc. Next, install via USB—many tutorials show how to create an ISO image on a USB drive. Finally, enter the key when prompted; it will activate automatically with an internet connection. It’s straightforward and reliable. What are your thoughts on handling drivers, software issues, or troubleshooting during setup? Good luck!

Sure thing. Just go through the instructions you provided and it should work. @NightShade0 clarifies the process a bit more.
