I'm facing a challenge! I need to turn PDFs into TIFF images but haven't located any tool or site that can do this easily. I've tried a few websites, but the pages are either too long or the quality is low. Do you know any program or free online option that can convert PDFs to TIFF without losing quality? It should be completely free, since it's for work.

Use the converter at http://pdfimg.net/ to adjust the DPI manually. The higher the DPI, the better the quality.

The issue arises when converting a 4,4MB PDF with 20 pages into 124MB, especially if the quality is reduced.

What method are you using now? After updating to GIMP 2, you're only able to export as .xcf files compressed with bzip and gzip.

You could also add them to Gimp, then copy and paste the document section into Paint, and save it as a .tiff file.

It doesn't seem like a viable option given the size of the documents involved.
