I'd recommend Battleblock Theatre. It includes some intense action. Works well with Xbox 360 controllers. Alternatively, Rocket League could be a good option too.

I recommend trying Portal 2 or 1, perhaps a retro title. If she enjoys anime, a Naruto game might suit her. Explore the Steams Indie retro co-op section—it’s packed with great options!

I had a great time gaming Saints Row 3 and Borderlands 2 with my girlfriend and Toybox Turbos, since she usually wins most of the time.

We've really made the most of Gauntlet together. Interestingly, despite her dislike for sports, she tried Rocket League and seemed to enjoy it. There are also plenty of co-op and local multiplayer titles available through console emulation, making it a good time to explore retro games.
