I set up the guest addition in my VM, but it doesn’t offer display settings for 1920 x 1080. I tried Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, and Manjaro, and they all gave the same outcome.

The drivers for monitors wouldn't be involved here. It's the GPU driver managing the tasks. The monitor driver is likely for extra capabilities such as audio or USB passthrough. Or it might use additional software for OSD controls.

What video memory was assigned to the virtual machine? Setting it too low could prevent you from accessing higher resolution choices. This problem isn’t related to your display device.

I allocated 256 MB for video memory, which is the upper limit permitted. My system runs an Nvidia GT 1030. I’d like to be able to expand the video capacity further. There seems to be a delay between the video and audio in my Linux VMs—Fedora, Manjaro, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint all show this issue. I used the Oracel VM Virtualbox Extension Pack. When Manjaro prompts me to set the Virtualbox graphics controller to VBoxSVGA for Windows resizing, Oracle Virtualbox refuses it.
