I own a 7700x and even without removing it, it stays cool enough. It won’t reach 95 immediately after powering on during a stress test using prime 95. The 240mm AIO seems tight—likely causing the issue.

I managed to cool the 7900X effectively on air. For the 95C, it's entirely typical and intentional, but if you aim to reduce temperatures further, assuming your cooling system is functioning properly, look into "Curve optimizer undervolting for Ryzen 7000." You won't need to lower the CPU temperature that much.

Simply remove the air vent, empty a full tube of Arctic MX4, and secure the screws as firmly as possible without straining. This should maintain optimal temperature control. The era of small 90s Apple computers with slow processors and no cooling solutions is fading. We’re nearing a time when PCs require extreme cooling methods like dry ice and liquid nitrogen.

You're testing under stress to see how it performs at 95c. It makes sense to focus on real-world scenarios rather than just theoretical numbers. PBO/CO matters, keeping it cooler, using less power while getting better performance. A solid chip can handle the full -30, but your device only manages -20. Either way, it's valuable.

mounting issues or improper thermal paste use... (you took off the protective plastic from the cooler’s underside, right?) it’s not that hard to keep a low-power Ryzen CPU cool.
