Good morning everyone! I’m trying to install a laptop on a Linux distribution but haven’t followed the latest updates. I want something quick and user-friendly. Based on my tests, these distros often fail to recognize the network card, and since the driver is only available as an .exe file, that might be a problem you can resolve.

You seem to have some experience with Linux, especially Ubuntu, which is often beginner-friendly. For more specific help, it would be helpful to know the exact laptop model and network card you're using, so I can confirm compatibility.

I thought so too, and I’ll handle the installation of the driver afterward—probably after setting up the operating system.

You should not use wine to install drivers. Windows drivers aren't compatible with Linux systems.

I haven't used Ubuntu before. I've been running an older Linux distribution for a while. This laptop is a L200HA (Asus - Vivobook) wireless controller: AzureWave AW-CB231NF (M.2); it shows up in some distros like Mint but not others.
