As mentioned in the title, I created a custom build and plan to run Windows 10 bench tests. Since the buyer might prefer a clean setup without my credentials, can I install Windows fresh without purchasing a license key? Thanks for your assistance.

Do not turn on Windows during the initial setup, or the key will connect to that motherboard.

When you turn Windows on, it connects directly to the device hardware. After the system is formatted or someone else uses it, Windows will start automatically. To change this, you need a different activation method—only one computer can be linked with the key unless it's a reused retail key (which can be used elsewhere if not active). For OEM keys, this rule doesn't apply. If you're selling without a license, avoid activating Windows entirely.
