There are still some systems running, but Windows 7 is no longer supported and no updates are provided. Avoid using a Windows 7 device linked to the internet.

I don’t care much about that because it’s just for testing. Windows 10 feels much harder to run sometimes—it doesn’t start easily, so I have to push it into recovery before I can boot up. This is just a test system; my other OSes are only for testing. I haven’t got a regular PC yet; I only have a low-end model with W10. Security isn’t a priority since I’m not worried about viruses getting in when I can easily wipe them out with a Windows reinstall. My current setup is basically just overclocking C2DS or trying out 1155 boards with a Pentium.

It’s actually quite relaxed if you’re handling things carefully. You don’t need to worry about hackers immediately just because a Win7 machine is online. I still use older systems like XP for non-sensitive tasks, and that’s fine since I’m not handling anything financial.

Win 7 isn’t a big deal since it’s not that old… But Win XP is a solid choice. You shouldn’t link a Win XP system, as hackers are always after it. It’s quite simple for them to crack.

They really do not. It's not like there's some clapped out matte-black-spraypainted 1996 Ford E150 panel van parked outside my house with a backdoor into my network waiting for the time to strike. If you don't do sketchy shit and use common sense, your chances of getting your shit rocked are realistically quite slim.

Millions of “black vans” roam the expanded internet network, constantly seeking access to every virtual door. These are mainly those attempting to exploit open ports, weak firewalls, or default credentials. It’s worth noting that older systems like Win XP lack support for newer SSL certificates—perhaps there are easier solutions, though Microsoft hasn’t prioritized this update.
