The issue with the Asus armoury crate often stems from outdated software. Frequent updates are necessary to keep it functioning properly, but this can cause instability or crashes if not managed carefully. To simplify things, focus on basic tasks like adjusting lights and fan speeds, and consider using a more stable setup if possible.

Remove the software, disable it during BIOS setup, and switch to OpenRGB.

For RGB use, follow @WereCat's advice. When working with drivers and tuning, completely remove it and reinstall from the beginning. Even then, it might help you stay more stable—uninstalling everything and just applying updates manually could be better. Overall, it's a weak tool and bugs are likely.

Choose OpenRGB and Fan Control for enhanced capabilities and better reliability. Although OpenRGB may sometimes face compatibility challenges, it generally works smoothly with most ASUS boards.

Yes, RGB can handle fan speeds and lights too. You don’t need anything else from the Armoury crate.

Are you asking about the fan control system? Do you have a link to a resource? Are you referring to a fan expert available in Armoury?

This tool offers a range of capabilities for managing fan speeds, including using system temperature data or generating fan curves automatically.

You can also in most cases with PWM fans set the speeds and curves in bios, you won't have the ability to instantly change them and tweak them while in Windows but it is also an option.

Running AI Suite 3 and Aura on your z390 board requires adjusting the BIOS settings to turn off the Armory crate installation. Since your board is older, these changes might not be supported, but they offer significant improvements over Armory.
