You need a budget-friendly board to go with your Ryzen 5 3600. Since you're upgrading parts, consider a low-cost motherboard and CPU. You already have some memory installed, so focus on getting the right components without breaking the bank. The GPU is the only missing piece, but since he doesn’t play high-end games, it should work for now. The Tomahawk Max from Best Buy was a good option, though they’re out of stock. Think about alternatives if needed.

I typically receive a response faster than this. Perhaps it’s because I didn’t note it’s his birthday, which falls on Monday. Thanks for the tip!

What's the budget? Just let me know your birthday if you're comfortable.

Wait five days and b550 will be available with dmi4 for the CPU and a more reliable VRM solution. If you must act now, consider a Tomahawk Max or Mortar Max—unless budget is tight, go for a Pro4 or VDH Max. My advice is to wait the five days.

I checked the Tomahawk Max at Best Buy for $114.99, but it was out of stock everywhere. Once availability dropped, the price jumped about $100. I’m trying to stay within a budget and it feels like the best options are disappearing.
