Find a local co-op offering online games.
Searching online didn't yield the solution you need, and it's unclear where to get help. Could it be possible to run an online multiplayer game through a local network or VLAN? For instance, my dad and I want to play games like Gotham Knights or The Division—PVE style—but normally need a stable internet connection to connect with other players. Since we’ve relocated, our internet speed is very limited (around 3-4 Mbps minimum, up to 25 Mbps if lucky). It would be better to link both computers to the same network switch so they can connect directly without depending on your slow ISP connection. I’m not sure if I’m explaining it correctly, but I only have basic networking experience from tech support work. In simple terms, you’d connect both PCs via Ethernet to a single switch and then join the game there. Thanks for any advice!
Games usually need only moderate bandwidth, around 1-2MB/s should suffice. Your request is clear—I'm not looking for a specific title, just something that supports multiplayer and keeps lag low.
It seems the satellite connection is really problematic, especially with ping being poor. The main issue is that the games I want to play aren't compatible with what I'm trying to do. I'd love to set up my own dedicated server at home for these specific titles. Thanks for your feedback!
The listed titles don’t include local network co-op options. The top results for “lan coop gotham knights” on Google point to PC games that generally lack LAN party support and don’t provide server software for self-hosting, which usually conflicts with their business practices focused on data collection and brokering. If no one plays on the main server, what information would they gather? It’s possible they track usage patterns, player behavior, and transaction data. As for recommendations, checking sites like PC Gaming Wiki or Steam Curator might help you find similar titles with better multiplayer features.
