I understand what you're saying. The default field of view is too small. You can get a mod or download one from the internet that expands your FOV, so you won’t feel any discomfort anymore. This game is really good, and I only got fully engaged after finding this modification.

I'm not sure how people feel about Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, but I tried playing it and found it quite enjoyable. It's an action RPG with a vibe similar to Zelda: Ocarina of Time combined with Skyrim, plus some impressive visuals. It felt fun, so I'd recommend giving it a try. It released around the same time as Skyrim, which probably didn't get much attention.

Second Dark Souls 2 presents an unusual item spread, particularly at the start of the game. You’ll often be forced into a strong DEX build until you can secure better DEX gear or magical items later on.

Skyrim with tons of mods—so different from the original. You’ve probably seen people rave about it, but I’m just sharing a thought.

Loved Amalur. It's been a huge letdown that this IP isn't moving forward. Felt tempted to reinstall it but never actually did. Now I'm playing Torchlight 2 with Synergies Mod. Necromancer, by the way.

You just tried it out yourself. I recommend giving it another go. Also, give it a shot with Omikron: The Nomad Soul—it feels old and a bit strange at first, but it really draws you in once you're in.
