Searching for fantasy RPGs to enjoy after Destiny or Civilization: After Earth. Prioritizing strong character customization and skill tree systems, with a preference for mage-themed experiences. Also checking out Skyrim and Hammerwatch for your consideration.

Firefall offers a sleek visual style but the core experience feels average. The graphics are refined, yet the gameplay itself isn't particularly engaging. Consider trying Path of Exile instead. If you're familiar with Diablo 2 (not the latest version), this title is worth checking out. They have two weeks before their next expansion launch, introducing two new four-month leagues—ideal for a fresh start. I suggest dedicating those two weeks to exploring the Default league; it can be intense, so prepare yourself.

It might be The Witcher 2. I began playing it recently and found it quite solid.

Star Ocean remains a timeless classic, needing an emulator to run but celebrated by many as one of the greatest RPGs ever made. Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 are impressive experiences worth every investment. There’s nothing negative about them. Sacred 2 offers a vast world filled with hidden bosses and over a thousand hours to explore if you tackle it at full difficulty. Among these three, Dark Souls and Sacred 2 likely provide the most rewarding mage journey, since Star Ocean is a beloved RPG where unlocking characters adds depth. Each mage has its own path, giving players many options to enjoy.

Is it necessary for it to be fantasy? If not, I strongly suggest Mass Effect. And Borderlands 2, provided it fits.

Sure, I have it, though handling controls isn't really my thing. It just feels awkward and uncomfortable.

Hasn't required much time, having spent over 600 hours on Mass Effect and more than 100 on Borderlands. I'll check the other two; Star Ocean is familiar, Diablo 2 is known but not played, and Path of Exile seems too intense for me. After Runescape, I've never really tried another MMO.

The real challenge starts at level 40 or higher. You mastered it at level 20. Levels 21 through 40 involve replaying the game on Hard, followed by levels 41 to 60 which are more difficult (Cruel). Each tier introduces new ideas and challenges. The tougher parts come after 40 and require solid preparation; otherwise you might struggle. If you don’t take the final stage seriously, feel free to play however you like as you progress.

Adjust the blur settings. The interface needs some time to learn. For better performance with a Xbox 360 controller, try using it in W2, since it works more smoothly with the gamepad.

Witcher series definitely comes into play, and Dragon Age looms as the inquisition approaches.
