The Micro version of OptiPlex 3040 doesn't support that CPU. It has a significantly higher TDP compared to the standard i7, so choosing a less powerful processor wouldn't be ideal. The i7-6700T is a 4-core/8-thread model.

You can relocate the i7 to another computer and employ the mini PC for less demanding jobs that don’t require the i7.
