You're considering a GTX 1080 Ti build for gaming and have already picked up a Ryzen 5 3500X with a B450M DS3H motherboard, based on some benchmarks from YouTube. What are your thoughts? Would swapping the CPU be a good idea?

Sure thing. The key is to focus on what truly matters. I think you could have improved more on the board and possibly used a stronger CPU if your budget permitted it. Have fun with your new setup!

It really varies by game. Triple A titles demand up to eight threads and consume most GPU power, whereas games like CSS/GO are more CPU-intensive with lower GPU usage. If your GPU stays under 100%, it means the CPU is likely the limiting factor.
