Essentially, AMD might strengthen its presence in gaming or engineering if it invests effort to improve performance. SolidWorks performs significantly better on a FirePro than on a Quadro because AMD helped optimize the latter for the software. They didn’t optimize Alien: Isolation as thoroughly, though Nvidia GPUs eventually prevailed. Despite this, they still hosted events in places like Hawaii.
I believe the expense of hosting a conference in Hawaii is much higher than deploying an entire engineering team to focus intensely on one game for two years. However, I concur that AMD would benefit more from increasing its visibility. Watch the video.
My perspective is clear: seeing the AMD logo on the back of PS4 or XBO games would give people an instinctive sense of the brand. For casual PC buyers, this could subtly influence decisions, possibly shifting some choices toward AMD. I’m curious how many console users actually realize their GPUs are built by AMD.
