In this Mac setup, the drive layout appears incorrect. The 'Macintosh SSD' and 'Windows 10' are sharing a single 500GB SSD. The issue is that Windows 10 claims to have its own 500GB SSD, which isn't matching the actual configuration. Edited October 8, 2018 by firelighter487 typo

It appears the system doesn’t have a clear way to label this Windows 10 partition. It identifies the 380GB APFS volume and treats the rest as a distinct partition containing Windows 10, which makes sense but isn’t fully accurate since the Windows drive isn’t a separate 120GB disk. You can’t change it, though.

The disk utility matches the data: Windows 10 shows 120GB and the Macintosh reports 380GB. It's strange that MacBook Pro lists a different size, but Disk Utility is accurate.

I wouldn't be concerned about it. If it bothers you, reach out to Apple, okay?

I was a bit concerned about the time machine and backups, especially if it misidentifies the disks.

It seems the system checks those direct paths during backups, but that shouldn't affect the outcome.

it seems macOS doesn't remove files as easily as the newest Windows updates, so many users are focusing on backing up their information
