File remains occupied despite deletion.
I downloaded around 50GB of a game onto my hard drive, then transferred the drive to another PC and removed the installation files from that system. The space is still being used, and I can't locate the files anywhere—I'm really worried. Help would be appreciated.
Execute a cleanup tool and check for remnants of Windows 7, 8, or 10 files after upgrading to Windows 10.
Files might be saved under a different username—one you used on another device. This means the search tool could struggle to access folders tied to that account, possibly missing items in the recycle bin or elsewhere. Consider using software like WinDirStat, but run it with administrator privileges. Right-click and choose the option or press Ctrl+Shift+Enter on the executable. Administrator accounts are typically permitted to scan or browse any user's folders.
