File is halted following the transition from an outdated SSD to a fresh one
Hello! I recently purchased a new SSD for my operating system because my previous one was showing signs of failing. The Hard Disk Sentinel indicated it had limited remaining lifespan. Instead of starting from scratch, I opted to transfer my Windows 10 installation to the new drive using Macrium Reflect. At first, everything appeared normal until I removed the old SSD to use it with an older laptop. After booting from the new drive, I encountered a Windows recovery screen and couldn't access the OS normally. I looked into the issue and found online suggestions recommending EasyUEFI as a solution. I tried it and rebuilt the UEFI partition on the new SSD, which resolved the problem—Windows now booted directly without needing the recovery interface.
From then on, while the system ran smoothly, many applications would crash frequently, sometimes freezing or shutting down unexpectedly. Games would either hard shutdown or simply freeze without errors, resembling the behavior of Task Manager’s End Task. Google Chrome also experienced issues, often displaying "Not enough memory" or requiring a restart to open tabs.
Eventually, I decided to upgrade to Windows 11 from 10, but the problem continued. I tried various fixes: updated drivers, ran memory diagnostics, checked SSD health, reinstalled RAM, and even reformatted the old SSD. Despite these efforts, the issue remained. I’m frustrated and hoping someone can assist me further. Thanks ahead!
Hello! I've already attempted to reinstall a few of my favorite games, but they kept crashing even after the update, so it doesn’t seem like the problem is there.
