Hi so I have been a lil stupid, so my drive was too full for me to make a backup so I wanted to move my users folder to my 1tb HDD whyich I thought was a great idea, I did that but then ran into problems when logging in, so I tried moving them back but it just made it worse, I had the Susie where it would say we are just getting things ready for you over and over but then I restarted and now it logs in but is pretty corrupted. Since I don't have a restore point I can't restore it, so is there any way to restore windows 10 to a previous point in time without a restore point?? Or am I just stuffedHi so I have been a lil stupid, so my C drive was too full for me to make a backup so I wanted to move my users folder to my 1tb HDD which I thought was a great idea, I did that but then ran into problems when logging in, so I tried moving them back but it just made it worse, I had the screen where it would say we are just getting things ready for you over and over but then I restarted and now it logs in but is pretty corrupted. So I created a new user account and transferred all the files over not including the system files and hidden folders and it's just not the same, most of my shorrtcuts on my desktop are gone and my background is different. Since I don't have a restore point I can't restore it, so is there any way to restore windows 10 to a previous point in time without a restore point?? Or am I just stuffed

You can likely create a fresh user account, assign it admin privileges, and from there remove the previous one or adjust any settings you require. It would be better to transfer only the large files rather than deleting the entire profile directory.

It seems you're wondering if Windows can set up a restore point on its own. You don’t need to do it manually—it should handle it automatically when you restore from a backup.

Occasionally it triggers during certain actions like installing software, so check the restore section if needed. I don’t think it preserves the whole user profile directory.
