Hello,

I’m experiencing difficulties with my Lenovo Legion Y-530 laptop – it has an i7-8750H processor and an Nvidia GTX 1050 graphics card. Yesterday, I purchased FIFA 19 through Origin and began playing with friends who already owned the game. However, I encountered numerous crashes during gameplay, occurring immediately after attempting to initiate the game by pressing a key. These crashes consistently happen following any key press, indicating a problem with data loading.

Initially, DirectX-related errors proved unresolvable despite attempts to fix them using the Registry Editor and other methods. The current error displayed in the attached screenshot is a recurring one. I’ve updated both my integrated Intel graphics driver (installed through the website, but subsequently reverted by Windows Update) and the latest Nvidia driver for my GTX 1050.

“Driver #1” refers to the Intel graphics driver, while “Driver #2” represents the Nvidia driver version currently installed on Windows. I attempted to limit FIFA 19’s CPU usage by restricting it to four cores, a suggestion I found online, but this did not resolve the issue. A full scan with Malwarebytes detected and removed harmful files.

I suspected that the game may be utilizing the Intel graphics card instead of the more powerful Nvidia card, leading to a memory requirement issue (the game previously reported needing at least 512MB of graphics card memory). I modified the default graphics selection for the game, but the Nvidia card’s usage remained at 0% during startup and it didn't go into full screen, suggesting a potential issue with GPU assignment.

Could someone please offer assistance? I’m struggling to find a solution, and I'm becoming increasingly frustrated.

Ensure your computer's motherboard firmware is at its most current release. What operating system version are you utilizing?

Access your NVIDIA Control Panel and navigate to the 3D Applications settings. Build a profile specifically for the FIFA 19 executable and configure it to consistently utilize your NVIDIA graphics card. Certain computer games struggle with identifying the appropriate GPU on laptops and may automatically select Intel HD graphics instead, necessitating a manual override through the NVIDIA Control Panel to ensure your dedicated Nvidia GPU is employed.

After installing a new BIOS update provided by Lenovo, my game continues to display the identical error. My operating system is Windows 10, specifically version 1809.

If this assists in responding to your query, I removed a section from my Task Manager. The coinciding GPU peaks at the same time within the game signify what occurs when I activate Enter or Space—actions required to proceed beyond the initial display screen.
