Hey, I see. You're using a decent setup with an i7 12th gen, RTX 3080, and 32GB RAM. Your performance is solid at 240 FPS and smooth gameplay, which is great for a first-time build. The issue you're facing with lag at lower refresh rates like 144 Hz is common and can be due to several factors—like driver settings, background processes, or even GPU performance at lower resolutions. It’s not necessarily about your PC getting old; sometimes software tweaks or driver updates help. Try adjusting your GPU settings to match your monitor’s capabilities, and ensure no background apps are consuming resources. If the problem persists, let me know more details!

My 240 Hz feels just like my friends' 144 Hz, with smooth gameplay and no lag. But using my own 144 Hz version makes it feel sluggish or the response isn't as seamless.
