It’s likely humans aren’t built for hours of continuous gaming. Games use standard rules, and when you lose interest, you’re just as stuck with any other game. I usually play on weekends to avoid getting too hooked.

It's natural to look back on those earlier gaming days. I used to spend long hours playing Diablo 2 every day, but now I'm playing for about an hour or two at a time. Quake Live is free-to-play and has brought me back into the game.

I experience the same, but as you age, it becomes less impressive, since you've seen it before—just not with the same impact, though it still has its effect.
