I saved the BIOS CAP file again without using the rename tool, but it still shows “not a proper bios.”
Extract the .ZIP file and place the BIOS file directly onto the USB drive. Ensure the file isn't renamed; otherwise, the BIOS Flashback function won't work. Access the UEFI BIOS menu and update it there. Refer to Page 3-27 of your motherboard manual for instructions.
I was running the rog crosshair using non-WiFi bios firmware. It seemed to use the same BIOS version (2206) but with a different file name. That didn’t work either... I wasn’t expecting these issues when flashing from one of the biggest hardware companies. Such a disappointment.
They mentioned the same process again and still claimed it wasn<|pad|>, which isn’t a valid bios format. Apologies for the phone photos instead of screenshots—it’s simpler to handle on my phone while I work. A few moments later, I snapped pictures while navigating it, and it really happened! Updates are coming for Bios. Thanks for all the support. Hopefully we get some DOCP soon!
