I began studying Linux and configured two Ubuntu and Fedora virtual machines. The issue with Fedora is that it frequently reverts to a generic 800x600 resolution after restarting. Despite setting both systems similarly, Ubuntu worked fine while Fedora kept reverting. Its display uses a VMSVGA controller with 128MB RAM and 3D acceleration. Another annoyance is that the numlock stays turned off in the Fedora VM, though updates and browsing history persist after reboots. I’m confident fixes exist but haven’t found reliable solutions yet.

Adjust the VirtIO graphics driver instead. The numlock setting needs changes in the virt-manager preferences. Updated on March 1, 2019 by Guest.

You're experiencing an issue with VirtualBox where a specific option isn't available, but changing to VBoxVGA resolved it. Appreciate the guidance!

I mistakenly thought you were using libvirt. Just ensure the VirtualBox add-ons are installed.

Consider adding VirtualBox extensions if you're running VirtualBox.
