you just received a 2 in 1 tablet from amazon. when you powered it on for the first time, it showed windows 10 without any drivers. i chose to install linux and tried debian ubuntu and linuxmint between them. only fedora 27 amd64 worked, but it couldn’t detect wifi, bluetooth, or the touchscreen. i decided to go with xinput on a fedora system. after some research, i learned to enable it in xinput, but when i tried typing xinput it reported an error saying "unable to connect to x server." i checked online and saw suggestions like exporting display settings, but it didn’t help. i uninstalled and reinstalled xinput and xserver without success. the touchscreen also worked on windows 10 and in bios. any advice?

Fedora Gnome runs Wayland by default instead of Xorg. To switch to Xorg at login, a dropdown menu should be available. The touchscreen works natively in Wayland, which suggests the kernel might not support it. I found that compatibility is limited due to faulty firmware. You could check the page for details and try installing Ubuntu with isorespin.h. Alternatively, you might find the screen driver source code, compile it, and install it yourself—though this could be challenging.
