Hey everyone, do you know why FCLK was raised to 2400MHz and UCLK to 3200MHz for the default RAM speed of 4800MT/S on this ASUS TUF B650 board? It happened after I selected "Load optimized defaults" and disabled any overclocking features. Everything was set to Auto mode.

BIOS issue or measurement error. The Ryzen 7000 chip won't even start at 2400MHz FCLK, let alone crash.

Thing is once i POST it was on 1800mhz, from hwinfo reading, so i guess this happened during windows use ( my guess is while gaming because that was the only thing i did ). I did not get crash or BSOD though so i am not quite sure can the bug be this big ? I've seen temperature reading bugs but never saw frequency reading bugs in hwinfo

It's possible. The frequency makes no sense, so a reporting bug is much more likely. Honestly at this point I would downgrade your BIOS to the previous version, it seems like there's just something broken in the latest revision.

Reducing the BIOS is equivalent to updating, essentially just restarting it? I saw a post suggesting ASUS doesn’t allow downgrades on Reddit (maybe I misread), but I’m curious.

Yes! The ASUS TUF B650 Gaming PLUS WIFI lets you simply 'update' to a previous release, just like upgrading to a newer model.

I'm running BIOS Version 1654, which has performed reliably so far. It's an older release, but I won't need to upgrade anytime soon since I plan to purchase the 9800X3D when it becomes available. Updating to newer versions doesn't seem necessary because everything is working fine. This BIOS supports the 7800X3D and includes a fix for voltage problems on B650 motherboards with X3D CPUs.

Some BIOS updates have been applied, yet the board doesn't seem to include any of them. You're welcome to revert everything if needed.
