Hello I am connected to Ethernet but there isn't any internet and this problem keeps occurring randomly day by day. It does however comeback and I checked the router settings and network adapter and it still doesn't work. I did all what the Microsoft Forums and even other youtube videos, reinstalling drivers and scanning for malware using BitDefender, Avast and Malwarebytes but all of them still results to it having ethernet connected but no internet and I have to use a WI-FI adapter to access the net. Is it time now to reinstall/clean install my operating system to it should be? pls send help :<<

If it functions with a Wi-Fi adapter, the problem likely lies in the hardware prior to the operating system. For example, a damaged Ethernet port on the motherboard or faulty drivers that aren't working correctly. You can generally eliminate an OS-related issue if you can connect using another adapter.

I tried the new Realtek drivers for the 2020 model, they functioned then it reappeared. Now I’m using the official driver from the motherboard site (ASUS H110m-d), and while it works, I remain unsure about how everything interacts with my operating system.

This involves more hardware and driver considerations than the operating system itself. Certain networking chips are tailored by motherboard makers and function optimally—or only—with drivers provided by those chip manufacturers. Since these drivers are confirmed to operate correctly on the specific motherboard, they ensure compatibility.

I'll check the driver from the ASUS MOMO website to see if any issues arise tomorrow. I'll update once I notice any problems despite the Ethernet connection.
