I didn't really enjoy FC5, I tried it but quickly lost interest.
It's like having three versions of the same color—each feels similar but isn't quite the same. There needs to be a special case that breaks the pattern. Dropping another ball with 6 causes the whole HUD to vanish every time you move into a new area, making it hard to see the map, find your way, or reach the weapon menu. The game still works, but many user interface and experience elements are surprisingly lacking.
I wouldn't say the game is average; I disagree with the idea of it being lazy, uninspired, or a weak sequel. Comparing it to RDR2 being just cowboy GTA with horses is a fair analogy. It makes sense that creators build on successful ideas. Trying something entirely new would risk losing what makes Far Cry unique. Assassin's Creed struggles with this approach. FIFA 6 feels like a blend of JC3 and FC, and we've reached a visual plateau. The leap from DOOM to Far Cry is massive, while the transition from Far Cry to FC3 is significant, though not outstanding. For me, Far Cry 3 stands out as a standout title. The key issue is that after nearly perfect releases, it's hard to innovate without standing out. Once you've polished the formula, it becomes tough to differentiate further—people expect more, and if you don't evolve, you risk being seen as stagnant.
