Hello, I'm facing an issue with a PC that isn't mine. It functioned properly before but had an outdated BIOS version (v1.04). I considered updating it to the latest (v02.09), but after the update, when the computer restarts, the fans run at full speed and produce a lot of noise. No matter how many times I restart it, they don't return to their previous state. I'm unsure how to fix this and whether it's possible to revert the BIOS back to its old version. My PC details are: HP Compaq dc5700, mainboard 0a60h, chipset Intel q965, BIOS 786e2 v02.09.

Hey there,
You will most likely need to clear CMOS after the bios update.
Check the manual for instructions on how to do this:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/set...pc/3249646
This should solve your issue.
