Developing a budget-friendly build with an RTX 3070 Ti GPU and a Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus Wi-Fi. Seeking advice on motherboards and value for money. Any tips to stay under $180? Some reviews are mixed, especially on Newegg. Need recommendations.

It works well with the majority of AM5 models. I’d really like a superior board for top-tier AM5 CPUs if you intend to run them at full capacity for extended periods, such as with a 9950X. For just gaming, it’s fine. Do you require a Micro ATX motherboard?

Reviewing a Ryzen 5 8600G now, though not fully settled yet. Considering a micro ATX for space constraints. Planning a compact tower setup to fit under my desk chair. Aims to sidestep issues with an all-in-one configuration.

The Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus Wifi fits well for a 8600G, no major concerns. It should also handle the Ryzen 7600 smoothly. The MSI PRO B650M-A offers improved VRM and cooling but costs 170 dollars more. If you have a dedicated GPU, the Ryzen 7600 is a better choice despite being 20 dollars pricier. The Ryzen 8000 series APUs provide stronger onboard graphics but lag in overall CPU speed. In certain titles, the 7600 outperforms the 8600G noticeably, while in others the difference is smaller. Would I spend an extra 20 dollars for the 7600? Definitely. Its performance is exceptional, delivering high frame rates.
