I switched to Windows 10 to check what it would be like, but it couldn't detect my monitor's resolution. It worked for a while, but now it shows the system isn't authentic. If you don’t want to purchase a key, there are other options to verify or fix this issue.

I don’t possess the key since I purchased it from someone else who didn’t provide one.

While upgrading to Windows 10 I encountered a message stating: "Windows isn't activated on this PC." This required me to input the product key, exit setup, activate Windows, and restart the installation process before proceeding. I couldn't move forward without completing those steps.

It seems you need the key to proceed. You might try reaching out to the seller, joining communities like G2A or Reddit, or purchasing a new key at full price.

They mentioned a virus or a bad hard drive could be the issue. If either is the cause, fixing it should resolve the problem.
