According to what you shared, this hasn't appeared as a mechanic in any Bethesda title, so it's not something you're missing. Your perspective may shape how you view your character's position, but if you own the game, you likely anticipated this.

Bethesda titles work well for a variety of projects. At around 1300 hours into Skyrim with mods, you're still far from mastering everything. That's 1300 hours—way more than most people spend on a single game. It’s impressive how much time you’ve invested!

Greg Miller captured the essence of Bethesda's approach in the Greatest Dudes series—focus on the path rather than just the finish line. Even without completing the main story, the experience felt satisfying if it mirrored earlier titles. I’m okay with the long playtime and the challenges, but if the bug issue persists, I’ll keep exploring and tackling missions.
