Fallout 4 performance on Windows with low frame rate in a borderless setting, optimized for high-end PCs.
Hello everyone, I'm facing a bit of a challenge here. Usually I manage these issues by myself, but I'm really unsure why or how to resolve this. The issue is: when using full screen, I experience stutters, though they're not severe. In windowed mode it seems to reduce most of the problems. I've noted my PC specs below. I have a 1440p display at 144Hz with G-Sync, and switching to windowed mode drops my FPS to just 12-15. I learned that disabling G-Sync can help bring FPS back up to around 60, but it caps the frame rate at 60. I've adjusted the settings in both config files to cap at 60 and set the interval to zero. In fullscreen I'm fine, but the stutters still occur. My goal is smooth gameplay with about 60 FPS and no interruptions. If anyone has any tips or solutions, it would be really helpful. Thanks!
I found the solution, thanks for your assistance. When you set the interval preset to zero and launch the launcher while adjusting settings—such as enabling windowed mode—it resolves the issue. The document interval returns to 1, and the fix works smoothly at 60 FPS in the windowed Borderless view without any stutter. It's quite frustrating how this happens.
