You’re encountering compatibility problems because the game isn’t optimized for your Windows version. Check if there are updates or patches available for your OS, and consider using a compatible version of the game.

On my side, it functions locally but seems to operate in admin mode with compatibility for Windows 7. In the worst scenario, you might require the DLL for games from Windows Live or a mod to eliminate the dependency.

It seems the system remains unresponsive. Microsoft appears to have stopped the service that creates codes for Windows game sales, so purchases won't work. I didn't realize this game needed it, and it's considerate of Bethesda to keep it available until the end date.

It displays the same content on your PC, but you can hide it so it doesn’t appear again. After hiding it, the game will launch and function correctly.

It's also mine. I think the recent Windows updates caused the issue because I didn't receive a notification a few months ago. The same update wiped out my older Photoshop version. I'm counting on another update to fix it.

It seems the file wasn't detected by GOG because it lacks Steam verification. The installation worked fine once the game was verified.

The game functioned properly with Windows 8 installed. Why did Microsoft develop Windows Live for gaming anyway?

As far as I remember, they aimed to replicate the Xbox Live experience on consoles, which is a paid online gaming subscription service. However, an unexpected backlash occurred, leading them to abandon the concept eventually.
