Have you transferred her files to the device? Please proceed with a fresh installation using updated media.
The Windows setup isn't working or the disk is failing. Use a Linux distro from a live USB to extract files that way. I also recommend avoiding any attempts to boot or fix the drive, since damage could worsen the situation and make recovery nearly impossible.
Hi @TheGlenlivet The files can't be retrieved because the device isn't connected to any communication channels. No USB, no internet, no Bluetooth available. Thanks!
Choosing the USB distribution path ignores the existing W10 setup. You start from the USB immediately, it doesn’t require the original drive to function. After booting via USB, you can access the damaged Windows 10 hard drive and transfer all files to another USB or internal storage device. As long as the USB is detected in the system’s BIOS, everything should work fine! You’ll need a different PC to assemble the USB, plus an extra USB stick for backup.
Hello Everyone, The key issue that appears to be absent is the inability to detect a USB connection at any moment. I attempted to make a bootable USB using Rufus and it didn’t recognize it, which suggests it won’t boot from a USB at all likely.
I’ll have to remove the SSD and place it inside an adapter, allowing me to use a spare SATA connection on my gaming setup if needed. No obligation to hire someone else for this task.
Attempted but failed to enter safe mode; F8 opens advanced startup choices but not the safe state. Google advises using Windows settings, which isn’t accessible at the moment.
