It tends to create problems and worsen situations, so Windows updates should be reserved for Windows-related tasks. Obtain drivers and other resources directly from Nvidia/AMD and the motherboard manufacturer's site.

It seems the newest drivers are likely up to date, but the Windows update indicates a larger 3MB update, while the driver itself is around 80MB.

If Asus hasn’t released anything new for your motherboard, I’d agree. I’ve always used the same Management Engine Interface update, so I just skipped it. On Windows 8.1 it appears listed under "Windows 8.1 and later drivers," but I don’t update anything suggested by Windows Update as a driver.
