The top FPS record used a 3080 graphics card, but if the CPU is the real issue, the GPU probably isn't the main problem. Also, my friend who bought the components for me reported he consistently reached around 280 FPS.

CS2 versus CS:GO are quite distinct titles. If you received the earlier versions before CS2 launched, the experience will differ significantly, and settings play a major role.

Idle indicates the GPU is handling its tasks efficiently but isn't operating at full capacity. Power refers to reaching the maximum power limit, while thermal signifies hitting the designed temperature threshold. In short, the GPU hits peak performance, then briefly reaches maximum power and temperature before returning to lower usage levels. My initial thought is the GPU isn't the main constraint. Since the CPU isn't consistently at 100%, other factors might be involved—such as drive speed, memory bandwidth, or PCIe limits. Another chance is software reacting to power/thermal spikes by aggressively throttling the GPU. If this happens, it suggests poor coding practices. Good luck!

He delivered a solid show in CS2. Installing the 2024 GPU driver did a small improvement. I’m now more stable in the 200s instead of the 170s.
