Facing problems with installing Ubuntu? Let me help you troubleshoot.
I've been attempting to set up Ubuntu on my computer, but I'm encountering some problems. I've followed all the steps on the Ubuntu website for making a bootable USB. When I try to boot from it, I immediately jump back to the BIOS. Someone, can you assist?
My system is set to f8, yet choosing the drive with Ubuntu files causes it to freeze briefly before switching to BIOS.
I attempted to adjust the BIOS settings to make USB the sole boot device
You might have selected incorrect choices in Rufus or used an outdated manual. Consider creating a fresh installation file with Etcher.
Sorry for the delayed reply, I solved the issue. Just a note—avoid using Fujifilm flash drives to install Ubuntu. For some reason it doesn’t connect properly. I actually wiped the drive I had and it was brand new. I switched to an older Sandisk Cruzer, which worked right away. I repeated the same steps as with the Fujifilm, but I’m still unsure why it didn’t work this time.
It really damaged the flash drive. When I connect it to the computer, it doesn’t recognize it at all. The indicator keeps flashing without stopping. It was a pretty expensive one—about twenty dollars, since it’s the only one nearby.
