Facing issues with gigabit internet on your device
Hi guys, I've been trying to enable gigabit connection on my PC for the past weeks but there seems to be a bottleneck I haven't been able to localize somewhere I made sure both the ethernet cable from the router and the one to my computer support gigabit connection, both are cat 5e, I have updated my network drivers and bios, however I have a rather old motherboard - pegatron corporation 2AD5 on which I only found specs on 3rd party websites but they were fairly consistent and it seems like it should support 1,000 mbps. Yet, when I plug in the gigabit ethernet cable into my computer it does not get detected at all and windows says there is no connection until I change the speed in speed and duplex to 100mbps, a 1,000mbps option in not even listed in there which makes me think it is most likely the motherboard causing the issue but I wanted to ask here before I start looking into a new one. Thanks in advance!
