Hello everyone, welcome! I’m just starting this forum and haven’t found the right solutions online. I recently built my own PC and everything seems to be functioning properly, but it feels slower than expected when compared to benchmark results I’ve seen online. My setup includes an NVIDIA RTX 5090 with a TUF edition, 9950X3D chipset, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 6000 MT/s GPU clock at 30% load, and a 1000W power supply (though I’m considering upgrading to a 1200W unit). My monitor is a 1080p OLED, but it hasn’t arrived yet. I’m currently benchmarking around 170 FPS on a BF6 monitor, while others report 240 FPS or higher. I’m trying to optimize performance and efficiency, but I’m not sure what I should be focusing on. If you have any tips or resources, please share! Thank you for your help.

Did you attempt to lower the voltage on the 5090? You got similar results with less power and it’s straightforward. Apart from that, your approach looks accurate based on the 3Dmark data updated on December 2, 2025 by leclod.

I've already attempted to lower the voltage on the 5090 using MSI Afterburner, but the issue persists—performance remains unchanged. I understand the 3D Mark test suggests the GPU is functioning properly, but I'm worried it might be faulty. Could there be another problem?

Various perspectives exist regarding undervolting. The simplest method is limiting the curve to its standard peak frequency while reducing voltage considerably, which maintains similar frequencies but lowers power consumption. The advanced approach involves applying the same settings but capping at higher frequencies (or not capping) to achieve better performance with increased power. I experimented with both methods and asked about your experiences. Your outcome of 31224 aligns well with an average of 31842; it seems to function as expected. With a 3070 unit, you typically see around 13700. How are your temperatures? Edited December 2, 2025 by leclod

My readings look normal, operating things like bf6 and arc raiders around 65 C seems okay. I've noticed issues with the 1% lows—they drop significantly, often cutting performance by about 100 fps, which is temporary before they recover. I followed a guide that covered the basics of afterburner settings, though I'm not at home right now. I'll send an update once I get back to reviewing the data.
