I've been experiencing this for two months now. Have you ever discovered a solution? I'm using D6000 docks, E5580 and 5580 laptops. IPC$/Admin$/C$ connections fail only when connected to the dock. It disrupts many remote management processes. All devices on D6000 models were impacted. I replaced one with another D6000 to test, and it functions at my desk but not in other locations. The user's D6000 also fails on my bench. Consistent image, OU/group membership, and SCCM collections. In theory, the software/firmware should match. Between tests, DNS was cleared, DHCP leases removed, and AD entries reset for both machines. I suspected NBT but IP failed with hostnames. Initially thought it was hardware, but a single D6000 worked on my desk while others couldn't replicate. I considered Windows, tried 7SP2 and 1607-1803, and performed around 200 tests changing one parameter at a time. Some reports mention issues with WD15 docks, but all my WD15 docks work fine with the same driver as the D6000. This is really frustrating.

We never fully resolved the issue... only driver updates were applied, and we kept trying. Eventually it all functioned properly and we stopped facing problems. It seems we obtained drivers directly from DisplayLink rather than Dell, which helped. Also, we likely had to reinstall Windows before the problem resolved on affected clients—once broken, it remained so.
