I purchased my brother a 250gb SSD from Crucial and I'm a bit puzzled about the migration process. I'm attempting to transfer a 1tb HDD running Windows to the SSD, but I'm unsure how to do it without clearing out enough space on the new drive. I'm currently using Acronis software for this task. Thank you!

Avoid any modifications. Perform a fresh setup of Windows to prevent complications.

I agree with the idea of performing a fresh installation. You can transfer the operating system, provided you remove sufficient data from the original disk. For Windows 10, the fresh install feature tends to be faster and more straightforward.
