Suddenly (this week) my Facebook alerts aren't loading. It's on my desktop using Windows 10. I've installed all the updates (Windows and Chrome), but I haven't made any changes except for those updates. Do you know what might be causing this?

I haven't gotten any alerts about being placed in FB jail or posting content that violates community rules. Still, certain ads appear. No personal notifications or posts from me. In My Win 10 settings, apps Facebook isn't listed—shouldn't it be included? What's the proper way to reach out to Facebook?

I wanted to mention that my FB account has been configured as "Private" for a long time. Only people on my friends list can view it, and certain settings restrict access to me.

OK, thanks, that's what I thought. I reported the issue with all the info, such as it is, to that link. How responsive are they, do you know?

Interestingly, my FB account and notifications function properly on my Samsung Android tablet. This makes me wonder if the recent Windows update might be the cause. Am I mistakenly assuming it?

I understand - it's AdBlocker. It was preventing Facebook notifications from loading. The solution was found on DownDetector.com. Many reports mention the same problem.

we must always verify during installation whether the software doesn't have bugs for other users; they might need to adjust certain settings. refer to the second poster for your settings before, and if it isn't functioning properly, begin a new post detailing the exact problem.

AdBlock wasn't just installed once; it had been there for a while alongside my Chrome. The problem started after the latest Chrome update. Either AdBlock or something else was impacted negatively. I removed and then reinstalled the AdBlock and Facebook extensions, and they worked fine right away.
