For three days now, every link I distribute or receive displays "attachment unavailable". After a short period, the issue shifts to an image from the original link, but the connection disappears leaving only text. Even previously shared content is now showing the same message. This problem occurs on both my PC and phone. The only change I made was performing a factory reset on my phone and reinstalling the software, yet the cause remains unclear. Posted on Facebook Reddit but receiving no replies. It's frustrating since I'm trying to view used cars for sale and can't share links anymore. Any suggestions?

Do family members or friends encounter the same issue when trying to view and/or share the links? Or if you use different devices or phones?
= = = =
If a factory reset or software reinstall was performed, it’s possible some settings or paths returned to defaults.
It seems you might have missed a necessary adjustment.
Please verify the path to the intended links and the storage location of the "attachment unavailable" images.
How are the links being shared? (Copy/Paste?) Image address copied? Created manually?
Where are the images or links stored? (Online storage?)
What’s notable is:
"After a few hours, the error changes to an image from the linked source but disappears, leaving only text."
Try identifying a precise time measurement instead of “after a few hours.”
If a consistent time value exists, it could aid in diagnosing the issue.
Can you share any problem links without revealing personal details?

It's funny you bring this up, but last night my nephew didn’t understand what I was saying because although my end says unavailable, on his side it works perfectly.
Uninstalling or reinstalling software would only reset app settings, not Facebook or Messenger settings, so it’s unlikely the issue is there. Plus, it happens on my PC too.
From what I’ve learned, this seems to be a Marketplace thing. When I go into an ad and click Share in Messenger, or if I click Share and Copy Link, or I copy/paste the link, it works.
Weird... and of course there’s no Facebook support, and I wish they had a settings reset option. I tried looking online for solutions, but none helped.

My underline.]
Did the update include reinstalling Facebook Messenger?
Yes or no – either way, there might have been an overlooked interim update.

Just a thought.

Factory Reset clears everything on the software, so all apps had to be reinstalled. However, the app configurations on my phone wouldn't change the settings on my PC. If I turned off Messenger on my phone and kept it disabled, my PC would still function normally. The only differences are in app-specific settings... while account-related things like privacy or friends remain unchanged.

It's the web version, not an app on the PC.
