I recently got my new M15 R5 with RTX 3070, AMD 5900HX and 32GB RAM. Since they didn’t include a robust cooling system, basic internet use keeps my CPU around 82-85°C. Are there any experienced tech experts who can suggest small adjustments to keep things stable? I’m not keen on gaming temperatures either—just want the laptop to last six months. I’ve tried different power settings but nothing much changed. The BIOS options seem limited, so I’m unsure if boosting clocks can be turned off. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
You might enhance fan curves with third-party tools or Alienware’s own software. Be aware this boosts volume. You can also lower the CPU and/or GPU voltage.
160 watts for a laptop cooler is quite high. Use it on a sturdy table and avoid soft surfaces. Make sure the space around the air intake and exhaust is clear. (Remove dust regularly) Since it's new, it should work fine. (Refresh the thermal paste) If that doesn't help, consider using external fans for your laptop.
