Face difficulty with nzxt z73 because of limited USB 2.0 connectors
This adapter isn't suitable—it changes USB2 headers to USB3. Refer to the third link from my earlier post for the right one. Regarding quality and connection stability, it's hard to say for sure. There are many similar products out there, some with factory issues. You'll only find out for yourself. I don’t own a Kraken or the adapter, so I can’t test it.
The motherboard USB2 and USB3 connectors are male with needle-like pins. This means the USB2 connector you received from NZXT is female, designed for the male pin to fit. The USB3 side has pins, while the USB2 side has no pins, indicating a conversion between the two standards.
Gamidas Aeolus M2 1205R and Lian Li Strimex Plus work without requiring USB 2.0 headers. It seems they might use ARGB or RGB connectors instead. The link you shared appears to point to a connector adapter, which isn't necessary. These devices block two USB ports with the cable, but only one port is active, connecting to an extension card that functions as a USB hub. This hub provides four USB 2.0 ports, sharing bandwidth across them. Each row on a standard 10-pin USB 2.0 connector represents a separate port, operating independently. If you connect two devices with USB 2.0 ports but limited connections (like a single row), you can bend the plastic gently and extract the wires carefully, inserting them into the opposite half of a full USB 2.0 port. Maintain the original wire order for each connector to ensure proper functionality. The motherboard you mentioned has two USB 2.0 headers, one USB 3.0 header, plus addressable RGB headers on the lower right corner (two addressable and one RGB). There may also be additional ARGB and RGB headers elsewhere, possibly near the CPU.
