The same applies to RAM. It could be that you didn’t get the right components and the parts don’t support good overclocking. Which GPU do you have? Most GPUs can handle a bit of overclocking.

i feel really unlucky losing both the ram and cpu, especially on the cpu (r5 3600). i’m not pushing beyond max clock speed and the voltage is already high, which is typical for a ryzen. the graphics card is an rx590 from sapphire, but it becomes unstable after hitting 100 more mhz. it’s exhausting trying to use the pc anymore—it just doesn’t work.

If the system keeps crashing, you might need to increase the voltage further or it may be the CPU's limit. Keep in mind that the 4.2Ghz boost clock works best with one or two cores, so getting it running on all cores could be challenging for your processor. What voltages are you using? Regarding the RX590, most overclocking reports on YouTube range from around +60 to +80 MHz for the core and a bit higher for memory. It's essentially an upgraded version of the RX580, already near its maximum performance. Observing instability above 100Mhz isn't unexpected. I’m not sure what you’re aiming for—we can’t force components beyond their natural capabilities.

I’m already at 1.45 with the default voltage, but the Ryzen still crashes even at stock speeds. It should reach 4.2 without any adjustments, but it doesn’t. For the RX590, I’ve stopped trying for a long time because of driver issues—I’m sorry if it sounded pushy, but I’m saving for college and can’t afford a new PC right now. Thanks!

Consider adjusting the Global C-State Control setting. Several users reported that modifying this and turning off PBO resolved their problem.
