Don't power down or restart your pc unless necessary. Sleep mode or hibernate will do the trick until you get a SSD. A clean install will have a faster boot time but once you start downloading all your files back to the drive the difference may not be too noticeable. It is an option though and you can always redownload your frequently used games while you go to school/work/etc...

Consider SSD tips and merging your partitions. You currently have two new HDD partitions and one old one, and you want to combine them into one drive.

You can use any SSD without issues. The Samsung 850 Evo SSDs I bought have stayed highly reliable over the last two years with no signs of wear. The 250GB version should work well for your operating system and future updates, plus some handy applications.

Only a few applications launch at startup, such as Realtek Audio Driver and MSI Afterburner.

I was thinking about getting that as well, but setting everything up again feels exhausting.

It’s uncertain, but the Samsung software with the SSD should handle it.

You're referring to combining the current C drive with the rest of your partitions into one larger drive, around 1 terabyte in size.

Your C: storage is probably the operating system drive. Once you install the SSD, consider transferring your OS via the provided software for quicker startup or perform a clean installation on the new drive. If you opt to reinstall Windows on the SSD, you can reformat the existing C: partition and combine the two volumes.
