I've repeatedly attempted to resolve this ongoing problem with my computer and have struggled to understand why it suddenly shuts down unexpectedly. I reached out to these forums by a friend's recommendation, hoping to get help from other users on the site. So far, I haven't encountered any BSODs in my experience—actually, I wish I had one, as it would have clarified what was happening with my machine. My PC appears to crash without warning.

I own a custom-built system with components I selected myself, which is the only setup I've ever used. I didn't install any new wiring, though I did assemble most of the hardware (except for some spacing details). The BIOS version is 5021, and I'm running Windows 11—the latest available. Over the years, I've tried numerous fixes as a beginner in tech, including searching online, consulting ChatGPT, adjusting settings, resetting the PC, undervolting the GPU, and even changing the CMOS battery placement.

I haven't found any clear cause yet. When the system crashes, it takes a moment to boot up again before the motherboard lights flicker briefly. Possible issues seem to include a failing PSU, GPU sag (unlikely), overheating, wiring faults, or something else. I've reset the PC while keeping personal files, adjusted GPU voltage, tweaked BIOS options, replaced the CMOS battery, and even tried placing the machine in an unusual position to prevent sag.

I don't think overheating is the main problem since my home stays cool, and the shutdowns happen without heat buildup. I've reviewed the Windows logs, but nothing stands out. I'm really hoping someone can assist me, especially since streaming is something I want back.

P.S. The Razer components were purchased in-store three years ago, all sealed in boxes—so I'm unsure if they came from another source, as suggested by some users.

Do you have the logs from the previous shutdown, or could you clarify which error or issue occurred during the last incident?

Does your PSU have third-party wiring for add-ons? If yes, it’s likely a frequent problem. The PSU in question isn’t well-documented, making it hard to verify its origin. The only models I saw were the 850W units, which had many reviews about them failing prematurely or shutting down unexpectedly. It seems there’s a possibility that Razar tested them and selected the cheapest option that still meets the 1200W platinum efficiency standard—possibly a subpar product. Plus, they resold these after a few years for around $100 instead of the original price of $400, which raises some red flags.

I understand your responses well. If you share more details about the reports Windows provides (they often guide you correctly), it would help us further. Still, my initial concern is about the PSU. Having the exact setup—perhaps a wiring diagram—would be very useful to assist you. I also notice your power supply seems solid, but sometimes hardware issues can occur, so if needed, you can request an RMA.

Looking at the product page, it lists a Corsair HX1200i 1200W power supply. The details include specifications, compatibility, and pricing information.

When I check the logs, I don’t see any clear signs of the unexpected shutdown. Most entries are just occasional "critical" alerts without significant issues. I’ll aim to capture some screenshots tomorrow so I can share them later.

I don’t own any third-party cables, since the parts list lists everything I purchased. I didn’t realize about Razer either—I’ll check on getting a fresh PSU for that.

You can verify your RAM using Testmem5 for a fast check or Memtest86 for a thorough test
